Executive Summary
Xxx has been offering Mass Communication courses for many years. However, the courses are incomprehensive as it does not provide adequate practical experiences.
We have assessed that in the current situation, students are at a disadvantage …………………………………..
Thus, there is a need to supplement the student’s theoretical knowledge with more hands-on skills. Therefore, the implementing and running of a broadcast station within the campus will be ideal to further facilitate future and current Communication students on the technical aspect of media broadcasting. ……………will be tied in as our strategic alliances whereby they can provide Communication students with internships.
Our proposed plan will in turn benefit the Communication students in many aspects in terms of technical, communication, teamwork, leadership, public relations and creativity skills among many other things.
The total budget will be S$ 50,000.
Introduction
Background:-
For years, xxxxxxxxx has provided mass communication courses from Diploma to Masters Level, yet the pragmatic hands-on experience aspect of the course which is important & valued in today’s society is lacking. Despite having the broadcasting infrastructure at the campus, communication students are not presented with sufficient opportunities to use them. Furthermore, current internships given by are not compulsory and is not reflected in the results or testimonials.
Rationale:-
Students will get practical experience to be the station DJs as well as producing the television programs. Thereby, giving them a chance to put what they have learnt in the classroom into practice and experience a mock working environment. The aim is to produce graduates who will be well-equipped to meet the demands of and excel in a competitive working environment.
The rationale of this proposal is based on the fact that students have insufficient applied experience. Through this we will enhance the quality of the communication students’ learning process.

We see the need to provide practical experience to the communication students in addition to the theoretical aspect of the course so as to provide a well-rounded education.
Description of the project
This proposal will contain the description of the setting up of an internal broadcast station in which will benefit the communication students by giving them invaluable experience, an all-rounded education and increasing their employment prospects.
Objectives
1) To increase hands-on experience of communication students in addition to their theoretical studies.
2) To expand communication students’ network with the media industry so as to increase their employment prospect by 25% by the end of 2008.
Strategy
Procedure:-
- Request to Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts (MICA) for broadcasting license.
- Upgrade and install whatever is lacking in the studios.
- Purchase and install equipments.
- Organise an opening ceremony

Our strategic alliances who will be providing us with internship, music videos and songs, and celebrity DJs, all advertising for them will be at a discounted rate.

The team will get Panasonic to sponsor us with equipments such as television and in return the Panasonic logo will appear on our website under sponsorship.
